Verona Cavaliers Baseball Team History

2011 Season Preview:
Verona Home Talent will be defending its third straight Home Talent League
championship in 2011. Verona returns a wealth of talent from last year's team with the addition of a few young players from the Verona Area High School team. The Skipper, manager Dale Burgenske, returns for his 15th season with the club and looks forward to managing another solid squad. Returning pitchers Matt Niffenegger, Ben Wallace, Cole Kroncke and Dan Koss will round out the starting pitching with help from other arms in Nick Krohn, Zach Spencer and Landon Flora. New additions from the high school team Matthew Gust and Josh Hainzinger will make the pitching staff even stronger. At the plate, Verona will again be strong with former league MVP's and hitting champs Matt Peetz and Derek Burgenske. Veterans Zach Spencer, Nick Krohn, Dan Koss, Billy Engelhart, David Burgenske, AJ Stoffels, Derek Prochaska, Derek Murphy, Aaron Osten and Andy Nettum will continue their efforts in bringing another HTL championship to Verona. The team looks forward to enjoying another fun
